    ...painting...

So I was asked to paint a set thingamahjiggiebobber for vbs on saturday... yainess!!! That makes me sooo happy! Not that I am seeking praise for being a decent or (dare I say it...?) good artist, but it is quite nice to be apreciated for my talents. Which we all know have come straight from God, so I am excited about having the opportunity to use them in even a tiny way for His glory. Yay!!! Ocean, sky, island . . . I think I can manage that in one morning and still get to work on time... Ima go do some sketches. Woohoo!! Happy day!! It's nice to be noticed!

    Random new stuff . . .

Well . . . I don't think I even have any readers any more, since the bubble has been so neglected as of late, however I will say this: I'm back online! My dad bought me a new modem for my notebook, since it had died . . . huge bummer!!! But I'm back now! I don't really have anything else to say right now, however I finally caved in and actually started using myspace. I've had my page there for ages, but hadn't really done anything with it before now. Anyhow, if you are interested it at www.myspace.com/limegreentoez yeah . . . I think I have, without a doubt, the monopoly on "Limegreentoez" finally, a name that really is unique . . . it sure has a tendancy to stick in people's minds anyhow! Lol! SO . . . go check it out, there's some moderately interesting stuff there even if I do say so myself . . . not facinating or anything . . . just a time killer . . .

    Hugs!!

ramblings of a rather empty mind

Well please do forgive my last entry ( I Know, I know . . . more of a rant than an entry) But hey, on occasion we need to blow off a little steam, and where better to do so than in my own little bubble. Yes I changed the name . . . I was really tired of getting searchers of you know whats clicking on the link to my page . . . It just makes sorting through the searchers who end on my page really dull and repetitive. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about . . . never mind . . . you really don't want to know, trust me. Anyways, I have decided to repost some of my old writings as I'm extrordinarily swamped right now. If you will just hold on for a sec while I go retrieve something . . . Ok, here it is. I think I last published this somtime in july . . . It's probably not something that will interest too many people, but it's a peice that is very close to my heart for many reasons . . . we'll just leave it at that. Happy reading!!

    nasty consumers

Well, here I am popping into my own rather neglected, albeit thriving on green stuff, bubble to say "Hello" and lapse back into the comfortable ramblings of my mind. This might take a while as it has been sadly underworked as of late. Well . . . unless we consider having to deal with customers who seem to think it's ok to walk all over employees who make minimum wage . . . enough about that though. My space seems to be, as usual, over flowing with visitors who have strayed off of their intended path whilst searching for *whispers* you know what . . . . Anyways . . . I still find them tacky and puffily annoying, but that's not the point. Whats that? What have I been up to you ask? Well . . . fine . . . just humor me and pretend you asked then, 'cause I'm gonna tell you anyhow. That's better, thanks. I have been in classes full time, as usual, of course. I have also, (and I can't recall if I had mentioned this previously or not) have been working part time as a cashier at Michael's (the arts and crafts store) *WARNING - SOAPBOX*   I completely and totaly detest people who walk into the store with every intention of taking advantage of us, and abusing store policy. How does "one coupon per person per day" translate into: well you can make an exception for me with my three coupons because I say so, now just ring me up as three separate transactions. I DON'T THINK SO!! Also, people who are just plain stupid really annoy me. They see a sign that says "Lion brand  . . . blahblah blah . . . I 'm to stupid to be bothered with reading the rest of it . . . on sale 50% off. Then they get upset with me when the yarn they have isn't on sale and emphatically tell me "yes it is on sale, there's a sign back there!!" As if I don't know that! I also happen to know that they didn't bother reading the whole sign, and I'm sorry if I'm not too happy about walking back there with you to point out your mistake when I have five other impatient people in my line! Being a employee of the store I do know (and this may shock some nasty shoppers out there) what is on sale and what is not!! Crazy, I know, but being someone who works there I do happen to know what's going on. The store isn't trying to cheat anyone!! We are more than fair to our customers, we constantly look out for your best interests, and we in no way "bait and switch" (I was actually accused of that once, lmao!!) Just because you may be an idiot doesn't mean I am cheating you. For example people are paranoid that I'm going to puposely take their 50 or 40% off coupon and put it towards their least expensive item. Guess what!! The register automatically will take it off the most expensive item not on sale that you are purchasing!! So you actually are guaranteed to recieve the largest possible discount off of your purchase. So stop giving me crap about it!! And I'm not going to make an exception for you and your three coupons just because you are a bitch about it! I was accused of having a bad attitude by this woman the other day, so I'm gonna rant about it a bit if you all don't mind. Here's what happenend:

Woman walks up to my register. Me: Hi, how are you today?
Woman: I bought one of these the other day and I didn't have my coupon so the girl said I could bring it in with my receipt and get the discount. Me: ummm . . . k . . . hold on a sec. (the coupon in question is expired, besides which she is asking me to turn a blind eye to our store policy) I call over the front end supervisor to ask if it's ok for me to make this exception. Supervisor: sure go ahead. Woman: (digging through dozens of reciepts) I know I have it here somewhere! (at this point she sounds annoyed and is actually glaring at me and rolling her eyes! Why? I'm not sure I only assume it has something to do with my calling over my supervisor to ok the exception (the freakin coupon was expired!!!) not to mention (and I read directly off a coupon in front of my very eyes) One coupon per customer per day. Coupon must be surrendered at time of purchase. May not be used for prior purchases . . . . and so forth. So clearly I was right in checking with my supervisor before making an exception.)
Woman: here it is (shoving the reciept at me) I look at the reciept and sure enough there is the item in question . . . one problem . . . it already has a 40% discount taken off of it Me: Oh this one already had 40% taken off of it (I point to the discount on the reciepts) Woman: Well I know I have it and you need to take 40% off for me (she's really nasty now) Me: I don't mind doing it if you have the receipt, it's just that I can't do it without one, that's all. Woman: oh yes, because you just so eager to do that! (in a really nasty sarcastic tone, and I swear those were her actual words, I remember them quite distinctly) I start ringing up her purchases while she continues to look for her reciept. Woman: oh I have more than one coupon for those so you need to ring them up separately. Me: I'm sorry but I can only do one coupon per person per day. Woman: NO! I can use more than one coupon, you need to ring them up separately. Me: I'm sorry, but that's store policy, it's even right there on the coupon. (mind we're talking about the one day only 50% off) Woman: NO Me: . . . uuhhh . . . do you want to talk to (insert name of previously mentioned front end supervisor) I can call her over if you like. Woman: crosses her arms and glares at me. (I call FES to my register, she isn't in the vicinity, so *unamed employee* who has the keys for returns walks over and asks if I have a return I say no and start to explain the situation. I am interupted by woman who very nastily explains that I need to let her use her multiple 50% off coupons, at which unamed employee says "yeah just go ahead." So I turn back to my register and . . . Woman: I don't want this girl to help me, she has a very bad attitute, I want someone else. (GIRL!?!?! she clearly is looking to cause trouble now!) (I look at unamed employee, she looks at me, we switch places. Needless to say I feel just a little bit sold out and I am just about to cry as I wait for her to get through with the nasty customer so I can get my register back and help the several people in line behind said nasty customer. Her behavior was nasty, rude, and completely uncalled for and I will be only too happy if she never shows up in our store again. Unfortunatly as she regulary shops there I shall just hope she doesn't have the guts to show her face in my line again . . . And you know the worst part!?!? She actually called and complained about me!!! can you believe that!?? My manager told me yesterday, and she said she told the customer that it didn't sound like me, and she told me that she was only telling me because she thought I should know, and she wasn't passing judgment because she wasn't there. And the reason I know it was that particular customer? She walked past me on her way out, turned and asked "what's your name?" while looking at my apron and I say "Kimberly!" Because I knew very well she would call and complain about me, and I said as much to to the FES. And secondly, because all the other customers almost always like me. Well except one, but suffice it to say that both my FES and the manager apologized to me that evening, because as one of them aptly put it "Nobody should have to put up with that kind of shit!" I actually cried that night. I just wish it hadn't been so busy when this woman was there, so there would have actually been another cashier or employee who could have witnessed her behavior. Or I could have at least cried to feel better. Anyways, my point is if you think it's ok to treat someone like shit because they make minimum wage . . . you are wrong!! If I were in the food industry, and had no standards or ethics, I would so spit in your food. But luckily for all you consumers who fall into the category of "nasty" I still have standards no matter how much you piss me off. Just keep in mind that not everybody who works in the service industry does. I will simply close in saying this: Nasty Consumers - feel free to learn some manners. Anybody working for minimum wage - feel free to rant!

    For Your Amusement . . .

Here are a few of the searchers who have clicked on my space recently . . . there has been a significant rise in the number of searches ending up on my page, more than ten times what it used to be . . . it's getting irritating. And the odd thing is that my page ends up on the first page of results, more often than not, I'm number one. Flattering really, but I'm getting very tired of the folks searching for Bubble Letters. Don't they realize how horribly tacky, pathetic, and puffily annoying Bubble Letters are!? May I just say this : Kimberly's Bubble does NOT endorse Bubble Letters of any kind and is not affiliated with the afore mentioned. "bubble" has more to do with a state of mind, environment, and consciousness of goings on in and around oneself. Oh, and I made some really awesome egg rolls the other day. That being said, here are the searches that end up on my space . . . for your amusement, and because I'm to tired to write something worthwhile.

Made me go barefoot (my barefeet are by choice, I assure you)
free barefoot goth pics (the most odd I've come across by far)
squishing things+bare feet (very fun, although I don't recall writing about it)
lime green bath sets (may I suggest an online store, rather than google?)
lime green spiders (now that's a spider I wouldn't squish)
    kimberly katte (huh?)
redhead (yes I am, and proud of it!!)
are they going to make a sequel to The 10th Kingdom? (I sure hope so!!)
many searches involving the word bubble in some way (MAKE IT STOP!!)
    fear factor+spiders+crawled+all+over+her (EWWEWWWEWWWWW!!!)
Miss Kim (I sure hope that has nothing to do with the guy that called me that)
getting rid of spiders naturally (1. squish w/kleenex 2. flush down toilet)
"getting rid of spiders" inside hot (ummm what!?)
    clay (ROCK MY SOCKS!!!!)
just 18 Kimberly pics ( if I weren't such a nice person, I would hunt this person down and beat the fudge out of them)

Ok, I didn't include all the searches for bubble letters (see above rant) and other bubble related issues. I swear, there are at least 10 a day, no joke. And I didn't list certain other searches for fear of attracting more well . . . for lack of a better word . . . ICKY searches . . . some people need to retrieve their minds from the gutter and give them a good scrubbing involving large amounts of bleach. So that's all for now, luvs &iced limes!

    I C E

This was emailed to me and I thought it was a great idea . . . be sure and forward this to everyone you know!!

    ~ Kimberly

The idea is that you store the word " I C E " in your mobile phone Address
book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be
    contacted "In Case of Emergency".

It was thought up by an ambulance man/paramedic who found that when they
went to the scenes of accidents there were always mobile phones but they
didn't know which numbers to call and he thought that it would be a good
idea if there was a nationally recognized name to file "next of kin" under.
Following the disaster in London, East Anglian Ambulance Service have
launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign with
the support of Falkland' s war hero Simon Weston.

In an emergency situation, ambulance and hospital staff will then be able
to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them. It
's so simple that everyone can do it. Please do. E mail this to everybody in
your address book, it won' t take too many 'forwards' before everybody will
know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind
    at rest.

For more than one contact name ICE1, ICE2 , ICE3 etc

    Hibernation

Yes . . . that's right . . . I'm going into hibernation. I was going to blog today, as I still haven't gotten my work schedule yet, and I've missed you guys soooo much!!! But you know, a certain book comes in the mail and . . . well . . . plans change. I'll see you guys just as soon as I finish my book. Yes, yes . . . that book! Lol!! I know everyone else has already read theirs, 'cause they went and got it at the book store as soon as it came out, rather than ordering it online, like me. But I'm still glad I got mine this way. Now I'm off to my hibernation . . . Although I'll have to come out this evening as we're loading the salt kiln for the very first time (finally!!) Apparently there's a funny story behind the delay . . . I'll hear what it is when we all get together tonight. But for now I'll be reading foor the next few hours. In other news . . . RebelRebel is back!!! Go say hi! I know we've all missed him, and I for one am thoughroughly relieved that the bread bandit didn't get him. (yeah I don't know what that is either) anyways, go give him a hug and tell him how much you missed him! Later!!

In other news, I may not be posting for a couple of days or so. I promise as soon as I am able I will make my visits to all those whom I have been neglecting. Luvs!!

What to write when the right words just won't come . . .

Well I just don't know what to say . . . I know what I feel, yet the words to describe just won't come . . . hope, despair, love, life, reality, need, end of all reason . . . all these are only words, my thoughts go far beyond and I am left behind. Left with no words to ease the pain of a hopefull heart. There is little left but despair, and I know to Whom I must turn for the strength to go on loving.

I know I've been gone a while, so here's a few little tidbits for you guys. Anyone else ever read Tidbits? It's just the funniest thing!! Anyways . . . VBS went really well . . . I'll be posting more about it soon for those of you who aren't familiar with VBS . . . and a whole lot of great pics!! For now, here's my fav out of all the pics I took!

    0b366f29.jpg

    Isn't that just so cute!?

So, recently, I discovered that I love iced tea!! Yay!! Although it is a little disturbing to me, as I remember watching my mother drink iced tea every summer as a child. She would fill these gallon jars with water, add tea-bags, and hold them in place by screwing on the lid to the jar. She then placed the jars out in the sun on the sidewalk in our backyard. I guess technically you would call what she made "sun tea" then, but really, it's the same thing! So we always had these jars full of iced tea in our fridge during the summer, and my mom drank even more of it than she drank hot tea during the rest of the year. I was never a huge fan. I thought it was rather bland. The other day however, my allergies were driving me crazy!! There was this really strong wind that was kicking all the allergens up into the air, making things sooo miserable for me!! My throat and nasal passage were all red, iritated, itchy, and a bit swollen. (oh relax!! I could breathe just fine, thanks) So I decided to make some iced tea to help me feel better, as the claritin wasn't kicking in yet, lol! It did a world of good for me, so I decided to share the "recipe" with the rest of you, especially those of you who have seasonal allergies as bad as mine, lol!

My favorite teabags for iced tea are Stash Irish Breakfast Tea (available in any grocery store) . . . if you are a tea wimp, you may use a weaker tea, but you pretty much want a basic green or black tea . . . Irish Breakfast is a black tea.

Boil one mug of water (microwave or stovetop) add teabag, let steep for three min. While tea is steeping, fill a glass to the top with ice cubes, add a dash of real lime juice (or lemon, if you're crazy in a not-so-great way) also add a tiny little sprinkle of ground ginger, or a couple very thin slices of ginger root (available in any grocery store, produce section, keeps for ages) if you like your tea a little sweeter you may also add a drizzle of honey, or a spoonfull of sugar (see my note regarding lemon juice for my thoughts on sugar) Remove teabag from mug, and pour tea over the ice, stir briefly if you must, and serve.

You may also make a larger batch of iced tea by boiling the water in a tea kettle and preparing the tea in a large pitcher with no ice and refrigerate. When you are ready to serve the tea, simply pour it into tall glasses with a bit of ice, cubed or crushed . . . see directions on the teabags for proportions of bags to water . . . and you'll just have to guesstimate on the other ingredients . . . after all, thats where the best recipes come from. Once you have your tea . . . curl up on the couch with a pillow, some dark chocolate, and a copy of "The 10th Kingdom" Enjoy!!

In other news, I recently won a brand new copy of "The 10th Kingdom" on dvd!!! Yay!! I found twenty t10K related words or phrases in one tough word search. It took me a while, but it was sooo worth it!! I'm really happy that I will finaly have my very own copy . . . and I'm sure Anna will be happy to get her copy back . . . I borrowed it ages ago, lol!!

And for those of you looking for a good laugh . . . here's the most recent google search!  . . . get this . . . "lime green spiders" . . . LMAO!!!! How funny is that!! I got a freaking awesome laugh at that . . . my socks have been rocked off all the way to Cleveland, Ohio . . . LOL!!!

Well, that's all for now, I'm gonna go wash dishes, and I'll catch up with you all later!! Luvs and Iced Limes!! Be sure to have a tall glass of iced tea . . . it's on me!

Not what this would have been . . .

I was going to put here what I wrote the last time it rained . . . I couldn't find that particular notebook though. I did, however , find a notebook from a while ago. In this notebook I found a poem of mine that I had forgotten about. Please forgive the awfull not-such-a-great-poem-ness about it . . . I'm not really a poet . . . so yeah . . . here it is! Now do keep in mind that I wrote this about four years ago please . . .

    Innocence shattered beyond repair

Lost in the eyes of all as they stare

    Meaningless we only stand by

As those who have the courage, dare to cry

Our nation has been turned inside out

And we all are plagued by hate and fear and doubt

The destruction, we cry, has come from people a nation apart

Few of us would think to look deep in our own hearts

Can we really claim to be the nation we have departed from

The nation that once with open arms called come

Our gates have slammed shut on those we promised to protect

And we shamefully turn away from the smallest defect

Our motto is no longer liberty and justice

    Instead guilty when declared suspicious

As long as we lock our doors and cry terrorist

We won’t have to face the hate and terror that rules our streets

So lock your doors and cover your eyes

We only have ourselves to blame when we hear our children’s cries
